A NEW BEGINNING
In the beginning there was darkness and heaviness
The darkness I lived in
I thought was enlightenment
The chaos I lived in
I thought was order
The noise I heard
I thought was music
Then off in the distance, a voice!
It spoke of light
What is light?
In my darkness, incomprehensible yet profound
It spoke to my universe and commanded light
My world! my senses! oh how it hurt
I tried to understand, to grasp
Let there be light!
The light penetrated into the outer reaches of my universe
It spoke of joy, peace, belonging, hope
It surged through my body like electricity
It stimulated my senses
Feelings unknown
Oh the sound, oh the ache
My chaos began to unravel
Disjointed and unhinged it clamoured for obscurity
What of my order?
The clanging, the shouting prayer
The rhythm, the heart beat, the measures
What of these?
So foreign, yet so beautifully familiar
My dissonance turned into music
My ears descried the stillness of voice
My heart began to commune
It gave me sight
It breathed
The Spark of Life
Then A New Beginning.
